Have you ever felt like no one cares about you? Not God, not your parents, not your best friend, nobody? I know I have. We all go through seasons where we feel like no one cares and we feel all alone. Well no matter how far away God seems, He is always there. You’re not feeling this loneliness because everyone has left you, you’re feeling it because Satan wants you to believe the lie that you’re alone and that no one loves or cares about you. But that is not true whatsoever. Even if everyone else in the world were to leave you, you will always have Jesus there for you. Here are 5 scriptures to help you battle loneliness.
1. Deuteronomy 31:8 [The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.] This scripture is what God told Moses to tell Joshua when Joshua was going to succeed Moses as the Israelites’ leader into the Promise Land. It was a promise from God to Joshua, but it’s still a promise today to you and me. 2. Psalm 91:15 [When they call to me, I will answer them; when they are in trouble, I will be with them.] This is a promise that we should never forget. Jesus will be with you in all your troubles. 3. Isaiah 43:1-5 [Do not be afraid. I will save you. I have called you by name—you are mine. When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; your troubles will not overwhelm you. When you pass through fire, you will not be burned; the hard trials that come will not hurt you. For I am the Lord, your God. … because you are precious to me and because I love you and give you honor, do not be afraid—I am with you!] This is my favorite scripture for when I’m feeling lonely. It’s comforting for me to know that no matter what trials I face in life, Jesus will always walk through them with me every step of the way. 4. Matthew 28:20 [I will be with you always, to the end of the age.] This promise reminds us that God will be with us until we die. 5. Psalm 27:10 [For my father and my mother have forsaken me, But the Lord will take me up.] This verse is exactly what I was saying in the first paragraph. That even if everyone in the world turns on you, God will always be there with you. If you struggle with loneliness I encourage you to write these verses down and put them on your bedroom/bathroom mirror, your locker, your car, your notebook, or anywhere else you’ll see them often. Don't give Satan the satisfaction of knowing that you believe that no one cares for you or that no one is there for or with you.
