Summer is coming to an end and school is starting soon. Some of you might go to a private school, you might go to public school, or you might be homeschooled, like me ;). But whether you go to a Christian school or a public one, you're likely to meet people who aren't saved. People who will ridicule you for your faith. And you'll have the decision to either hide your faith so you're not looked at as "religious" or "uncool", or to share the gospel to the people in your halls despite the mockery you may receive. If you are a Christian, then you probably have a desire to share the Gospel, you're just afraid of what people will think. Don't feel bad, I've been there too. You also may be pressured to ditch your faith so that you are able to fit into a certain crowd. Here are 4 tips for how to keep your faith when you're pressured to forget about it.
1. Get A Good Christian Friend Or 2 You won't feel so alone in your faith if you have a Christian friend. Another reason to have a strong Christian friend is because if you do find yourself falling away from your faith, they'll be there to help guide you back to the narrow path. [Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10] 2. Don't put your self in a position where you might find yourself compromising on your faith Set boundaries. Say to yourself, "okay, i'm not going to hang around the kids known for making trouble" so that you don't feel pressured to join them and in the process, throw your faith out the window. [Do not be deceived: "Bad company ruins good morals. 1 Corinthians 15:33] 3. Your faith is strengthened when you share it If you are regularly trying to get others to come to church or just talking about God, then you'll be less likely to disregard your faith. Plus, Jesus commands us to share the gospel [And he said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation." Mark 16:15] And lastly... 4. Don't worry about what people think of you I'm gonna be straight with you. You might lose friends because of your faith. People will probably think you're weird or stupid for believing in God. But that won't matter when we're in heaven. There are 4 tips for how to keep your faith in school. Check out this post if you're afraid of losing friends When You Feel Like An Outcast
