You've been there. I've been there. We've all been there. You look in the mirror and think "Why couldn't God make me pretty like all the other girls?" You think that you have no self worth because of your so-called lack of beauty. Well lemme tell you something. You are beautiful. I know what you're thinking. How do I know you're beautiful without even seeing what you look like? Because the Bible said so. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful. I know that full well." Psalm 139:13-14 NIV. Just in case you didn't catch what King David was trying to say here, you are wonderfully made. You are beautiful. You know, the one thing that puzzles me the most is that we obsess so much over something that we have no control over. I mean sure, you can pile on the makeup, you can dye, cut, or style your hair, you can even get color changing contacts. But underneath all that is still the same beautiful eyes, hair, and face that God himself created. When we try to alter what God created, we're basically saying that what he made wasn't good enough for us. When we call ourselves ugly, that is an insult to God. How? Because "God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them." Genesis 1:27 NIV. We were created in God's own image. So when we call ourselves ugly, we're calling God ugly. Bet you never saw it that way. God created us exactly how he wanted us to look. "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus..." Ephesians 2:10 NIV. So whether you have blue eyes or brown eyes, blonde hair or black hair, white skin or brown skin, you are beautiful.
