You've probably heard of the Proverbs 31 woman (if not, you can read about her in Proverbs 31:10-31). She was described as "A wife of noble character". We may not be wives yet, but we are women and we might me wives one day. The Proverbs 31 woman can also be an example of a godly woman, not just a godly wife. The word noble is described as righteous, good, and honorable. That is what we, as women, should strive to be. We, as Christians, represent Christ. So therefore, we must be women of noble character. We should want people to look at us and think "there's something different about her". "She doesn't follow the crowd like everyone else." It may be hard. You may even lose friends because you refuse to do the things of this world. But that's what we're called to do. We're called to be righteous, good, and honorable. That doesn't mean we'll be perfect, because the Bible says that no one is perfect except God himself. But we can still strive to follow the things of God instead of the things that the world is following. Proverbs 31:28 says that her children and husband called her blessed. As I said earlier, we may not have children or husbands, but people can still call us blessed because of the blessings Christ has put over our life. In Psalm 23:5 David says "my cup overflows". He's talking about blessings. When we strive to be a woman of noble character, God overflows our cup with blessings. God blesses those who want to be like him. He blesses those who choose not to follow the crowd. He blesses those who truly love and honor and follow Him. So in this world where people have no standards, we must strive to be no less than women of noble character.
